South Korea Consumer Confidence Improves

South Korea’s Composite Consumer Sentiment Index rose to 112.1 in February 2026, up 1.3 points from 110.8 in January, reaching its highest level since the eight-year peak recorded in November. Assessments of current living standards held steady at 96, while expectations for future living standards edged up by one point to 101.

Expectations for future household income remained unchanged at 103, and expectations for future household spending were stable at 111. Consumers’ views of current domestic economic conditions improved to 95, and expectations for future domestic economic conditions increased to 102.

Overall, the figures indicate a modest strengthening in consumer confidence, underpinned in particular by more favorable assessments of the domestic economy and its outlook. Inflation expectations stood at 2.6% for the year ahead and 2.5% for both the three-year and five-year horizons.
