Irish Average Weekly Earnings Rise 3.1% YoY in Q4

Average weekly earnings in Ireland rose by 3.1% year-on-year to €1,011.88 in the fourth quarter of 2025, following a downwardly revised 4.1% increase in the previous quarter. “Average earnings in the economy continue to increase year-on-year, driven by a number of factors, including a stable job vacancy rate over the past two years, as well as annual employment growth of 2.0%,” said Dr. Niall O’Sullivan, Statistician in the Earnings Analysis Division.

Earnings increased across all sectors in the year to Q4 2025, with the strongest growth recorded in accommodation & food services (up 6.8%) and in financial, insurance & real estate (up 6.2%).

Average hourly earnings rose by 3.4% to €31.22, with increases recorded in all 13 economic sectors. In contrast, average weekly paid hours edged down by 0.3% to 32.4 in Q4 2025.

The job vacancy rate in Q4 2025, measured on the last working day of the quarter, stood at 1.3%. This represented an increase of 0.1 percentage points compared with Q4 2024, but a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the rate recorded at the end of Q3 2025.
