FX.co ★ Taiwan Exports Hit Record High

Taiwan’s exports jumped 60.9% year-on-year to a record high of USD 87.22 billion in September 2026, accelerating from a 41.0% increase in August. The surge was largely driven by the AI boom and sustained global demand for technology products.

Growth was led by shipments of information, communication, and audio-video products (up 103.0%), parts of electronic products (45.3%), machinery (30.7%), base metals and articles of base metal (22.9%), and mineral products (86.4%).

The United States remained Taiwan’s largest export market, accounting for 31.5% of total exports, with shipments to the US soaring 106.2%. Exports also rose to Mainland China and Hong Kong (30.2%), ASEAN countries (93.4%), Europe (20.6%), South Korea (51.6%), and Japan (13.4%).

Over the first nine months of 2026, total exports reached USD 661.55 billion, an increase of 46.2% compared with the same period a year earlier.
