Elon Musk has outpaced all the ultra-rich! According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing data from analytics firm Altrata, Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, as well as a US government efficiency czar, now ranks as the world’s wealthiest super-billionaire, surpassing Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault. This exclusive list includes individuals with a net worth exceeding $50 billion.
According to the WSJ, there are currently 24 super billionaires with a combined fortune of $3.3 trillion. At the top of the list, the Tesla and SpaceX chief boasts a staggering $419.4 billion, placing him ahead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($263.8 billion) and LVMH luxury empire owner Bernard Arnault ($238.9 billion).
Notably, two-thirds of these elites—16 out of 24—have fortunes exceeding $100 billion. Analysts at Altrata point out that most of them built their wealth in the tech sector.
It is worth mentioning that Musk recently recouped the money he invested in supporting US President Donald Trump, thanks to a surge in Tesla’s stock price. Given this, some speculate that the businessman, who now holds a position in the White House administration, could become the next big oligarch.
Earlier, reports indicated that in 2024, the combined net worth of all billionaires worldwide increased by $2 trillion, with wealth accumulation accelerating at an unprecedented pace.
