US Futures Edge Higher After Mixed Session

U.S. stock futures experienced a mild uptick on Friday after the major indices closed with mixed results the day before. On Thursday, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both achieved new record highs, rising by 0.07% and 0.18%, respectively. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.7%, though it still maintains an upward trajectory for the week. The markets have been bolstered by robust corporate earnings and encouraging developments in trade relations. Alphabet saw a 1% increase after exceeding second-quarter expectations and announcing a $10 billion boost to its 2025 capital expenditure guidance, which strengthened investor confidence in its artificial intelligence strategy. In contrast, Tesla's stock fell by 8.2% following CEO Elon Musk's warning of challenging quarters ahead. On the policy side, the Federal Reserve is expected to maintain current interest rates at its meeting next week. Following a historic visit to the Federal Reserve's headquarters, President Trump has softened his stance on Chair Jerome Powell, indicating he has no intention of removing him from his position.
