In July 2025, the number of private house approvals in Australia saw a 1.1% increase month-over-month, reaching a total of 9,288 units. This growth aligns with initial forecasts and follows a downward adjustment of a 1.9% decrease in the preceding month. The rise in approvals was attributed to significant activity across most states, including New South Wales and Western Australia, both at 3.0%, alongside Victoria at 1.3%, and Queensland at 0.8%. South Australia, however, experienced a decline, with approvals dropping by 6.1%. Annually, the number of private house permits grew by 0.3%, building on an upward revision of a 0.5% increase noted in June.
