French GDP Growth Holds Steady at 1.1% in Q4 on Annual Basis

France’s economy maintained its pace at the end of 2025, with gross domestic product expanding 1.1% year-over-year in the fourth quarter, unchanged from the 1.1% annual growth recorded in the same period a year earlier. The latest data, updated on 27 February 2026, show that the country’s growth rate has effectively flatlined on a yearly comparison for the fourth quarter.

The year-over-year reading compares the change in GDP in the fourth quarter of 2025 with the fourth quarter of 2024, while the previous figure measured the change in the fourth quarter of 2024 versus the same quarter in 2023. The identical 1.1% prints for both periods indicate that, despite shifting global and regional conditions, the overall momentum of the French economy remained stable across consecutive fourth-quarter comparisons.
