Belgium Producer Deflation Eases in January

In January 2026, producer prices in Belgium fell 0.6% year-on-year, following a 1.8% decline in December. Domestic market prices returned to growth, rising 0.9% after a 0.3% decrease in the previous month, while prices in non-domestic markets continued to drop but at a slower rate (-4.0% vs -5.3%).

By sector, deflation in manufacturing moderated (-0.1% vs -1.5%), and prices in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities accelerated (16.4% vs 13.5%). In contrast, prices fell in mining and quarrying (-1.2% vs +1.2% previously) and in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-7.4% vs -6.8%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 1.5% in January, following a flat reading in December.
