Latvia posted a current account deficit of EUR 103 million in May 2026, down from a deficit of EUR 149 million in the same month a year earlier. The services account surplus widened to EUR 184 million, compared with EUR 171 million in May of the previous year. The primary income balance also strengthened, moving to a surplus of EUR 30 million from a deficit of EUR 44 million, while the secondary income surplus increased to EUR 88 million from EUR 62 million. In contrast, the goods account deficit deepened to EUR 406 million, up from EUR 338 million a year earlier.
