In June 2025, Norway's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 5.4%, up from 4.6% the previous month, marking the highest level since May 2021. This increase was attributed to a rise in the number of unemployed individuals by 27,000, bringing the total to 168,000. Concurrently, the employment rate reached an eight-month peak at 70%, up from 69.8%, as the count of employed individuals grew by 13,000 to 2.919 million. The labor force participation rate increased to 74.1%, the highest since March 2009, from a revised 73.2% in May. Additionally, the youth unemployment rate, capturing job seekers aged 15 to 24, surged to a five-year high of 15.7%, compared to 14% in May 2025.
