DAX on Cautious Note

On Friday, Germany's DAX inched upward to approximately 24,240 in a session marked by cautious trading. Investors were attentive to a new wave of corporate earnings reports and evaluated significant PMI data. Notably, private sector activity in Germany saw unexpected acceleration in October, with the fastest output growth since May 2023, primarily driven by the services sector. Market participants are also anticipating the long-postponed U.S. inflation report, which was delayed due to the government shutdown. Additionally, confirmed talks between the U.S. and Chinese presidents have bolstered optimism for a potential reduction in trade tensions between the two nations. Within the equity market, Siemens Energy emerged as a top performer with a 1.7% increase, followed by gains in Continental, Commerzbank, and Bayer, all climbing over 1%. Conversely, SAP fell by 1.7%, with E.ON and Scout24 also experiencing declines of nearly 1%. For the week, the index is on track to achieve a gain of about 1.7%.
