Slovenia Tourist Arrivals Soar in September

In September 2025, Slovenia experienced an 11.7% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same month the previous year, reaching a total of 740,000 visitors, following a 2.5% rise over the prior two months. Foreign tourist arrivals surged by 13.1%, totaling 605,098, while domestic tourism saw a 5.8% increase, reaching 132,785 visitors. Predominantly, foreign tourists hailed from Germany, Austria, the United States, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Additionally, overnight stays rose by 10.8% to 1.77 million. This surge was notably driven by the popularity of mountain resorts (accounting for 48% of total overnight stays), followed by seaside resorts (20%), the capital city Ljubljana (17%), and health (spa) resorts (15%).

Analyzing the period from January to September, tourist numbers amounted to 5.80 million arrivals, marking a 6.4% increase from the same timeframe last year, while the total number of overnight stays climbed to 15 million, up by 6.1%. Notably, foreign tourists were responsible for 76% of all overnight stays, with Germany being the predominant source of these visitors.
