Macau Tourist Arrivals Rise 9.8% in September

Tourist arrivals in Macau observed a 9.8% increase year-on-year, totaling 2.78 million visitors in September 2025, following a significant 15.5% rise in the prior month. The influx of same-day visitors registered a 19.4% increase, whereas overnight visitor numbers saw a slight decline of 0.5%. The visitors' average stay shortened to 1.2 days, down from 1.3 days the previous year, with the duration for overnight visitors steady at 0.2 days and for same-day visitors remaining at 2.5 days. Analysed by source market, entries from Mainland China rose by 14.1% reaching 1.99 million, with those under the Individual Visit Scheme experiencing a 27.2% surge. Meanwhile, visitors from Taiwan grew by 21.1% to reach 84,230, yet arrivals from Hong Kong saw a decrease of 3%, totaling 525,160. Cumulatively, from January to September, visitor arrivals increased by 12.4% reaching a total of 1.86 million.
