Similarly, the capesize index, responsible for transporting 150,000-ton cargoes like iron ore and coal, decreased for the third day in a row, dropping 6.2% to a three-week low of 2,871 points. Additionally, the supramax index saw a minor reduction of 9 points, settling at 1,369 points. In contrast, the panamax index, which generally moves between 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grain, held steady at its highest point in over a month, at 1,924 points. Overall, the benchmark index registered a weekly decrease of approximately 3.8%.
