Finland Producer Inflation Slows in March

In March 2025, producer prices in Finland experienced a 0.5% year-on-year increase, a deceleration from February's 0.7% rise. This slowdown was primarily attributed to subdued price growth in the mining and quarrying sector, which registered a 0.6% increase compared to February's 2.5%, and in manufactured products, which grew by 0.3% following a 1% rise the previous month. This was largely impacted by a decrease in oil product prices. Conversely, there was a significant rebound in costs for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, which rose by 1.3% following a 3.9% decline, while water supply prices accelerated to 6% from 2.7%. On a monthly basis, producer prices decreased by 0.2%, marking the first reduction since October of the previous year, after a stagnant reading in February. This decline was mainly driven by diminished prices for petroleum products and paper and paper products.
