France’s economy maintained a stable pace at the end of 2025, with gross domestic product (GDP) growing 0.2% in the fourth quarter on a quarter-over-quarter basis, unchanged from the previous reading. According to data updated on 27 February 2026, the fourth quarter 2025 figure matches the 0.2% expansion recorded in the prior quarter, also the fourth quarter of 2025 in the comparison series.

The quarter-over-quarter comparison shows that the French economy neither accelerated nor decelerated at the close of the year, suggesting a period of steady but modest growth. The “actual” measure reflects the change in GDP from the current quarter to the previous one, while the “previous” measure captures the change in the earlier quarter relative to the one before it. With both readings aligned at 0.2%, the data point to a consistent short-term growth pattern for France heading into 2026.
