In April 2025, consumer prices in Ecuador experienced a year-on-year increase of 0.46%, a reversal from the 0.69% decline seen in the previous month, which had been the first annual decrease in consumer prices since June 2021. Utilities showed the most notable year-on-year surge, recovering from a period of deflation (-9.64% in May to 3.33%) alongside food and non-alcoholic beverages (rising from -0.20% to 0.39%). Meanwhile, prices for hotels and restaurants also saw a rise, accelerating to 1.26% from 0.98%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 1.03%, up from the 0.27% rise observed in the prior month.
