Bosnia and Herzegovina Inflation Eases to 5-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in Bosnia and Herzegovina slowed to 3.6% in July 2026, down from 4.2% in June, reaching its lowest level since February. Prices continued to fall for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.1% vs. -0.5% in June) and for clothing and footwear (-7.8% vs. -7.2%).

Inflation also eased in several categories, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.0% vs. 3.4%), transport (13.0% vs. 17.5%), communication (3.1% vs. 3.2%), restaurants and hotels (4.8% vs. 4.9%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.7% vs. 2.8%).

In contrast, prices rose more rapidly for housing and utilities (10.7% vs. 10.5%), furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance (2.7% vs. 1.1%), health (5.9% vs. 5.7%), and recreation and culture (3.6% vs. 3.0%), while education costs were stable at 1.8%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.4% in July, following a 1.1% decline in June.
