Sweden’s Producer Price Decline Eases in January, Hinting at Gradual Stabilisation

Sweden’s producer price index (PPI) showed a slower annual decline in January 2026, suggesting that deflationary pressures at the factory gate may be easing. Year-over-year, PPI stood at -2.0% in January, compared with -2.7% in December 2025, according to data updated on 25 February 2026.

Both readings are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month with the same month a year earlier. While producer prices are still falling, the smaller negative figure indicates that the pace of decline has moderated. This could signal that cost pressures in the production sector are beginning to stabilise, an important consideration for businesses and policymakers tracking potential turning points in inflation dynamics.
