Sweden Industrial Inventories Drop in Q2

Industrial inventories in Sweden declined by SEK 4.60 billion in the second quarter of 2026, reversing an increase of SEK 11.67 billion in the first quarter. The downturn was entirely attributable to the manufacturing sector, where inventories fell by SEK 5.15 billion after having risen by SEK 11.65 billion in the previous period.

Within manufacturing, the largest reductions were registered in the production of chemicals, chemical products and pharmaceutical products (down SEK 2.47 billion); rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products (down SEK 0.78 billion); and wood and products of wood, cork, cane, etc., excluding furniture (down SEK 0.64 billion).

By contrast, inventories in the mining sector rose by SEK 0.55 billion, building on a modest increase of SEK 0.02 billion in the preceding quarter.
