Producer prices in Sweden experienced a 0.5% year-on-year increase in September 2025, recovering from a 0.7% decrease recorded in the previous month. This is the first annual rise in producer prices since February, largely attributable to a significant surge in prices for energy-related products, which climbed 16.4% compared to 10.9% in August. Meanwhile, the decline in prices for capital goods slowed to 1.0% from 2.2%, whereas consumer goods prices dropped by 0.1%, contrasting with a 0.6% gain in August. When excluding energy-related products, producer prices fell by 1.6% year-on-year, which is a milder decrease compared to the 2.2% decline seen in August. On a monthly comparison, the Producer Price Index (PPI) decreased by 0.7% in September, indicating the first monthly drop in three months and reversing the 0.5% rise observed in August.
