Spain's unemployment rate climbed to 10.45% in the third quarter of 2025, up from 10.29% in the preceding quarter, surpassing market predictions of 10.2%. The unemployed population increased by 60,100, reaching 2.613 million, while employment rose by 118,400 to a total of 22.387 million. Concurrently, the workforce expanded by 178,500, totaling 25 million individuals. Unemployment among men decreased by 22,600, whereas it rose by 82,700 among women. Consequently, the female unemployment rate increased by 0.61 percentage points to 12.11%, while the male unemployment rate experienced a decline of 0.23 points to 8.97%.
