South Korea’s Consumer Sentiment Slips in July as PCSI Falls to 45.48

South Korean consumer confidence weakened in July 2026, as the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) declined to 45.48, down from 47.71 in June 2026. The latest reading, updated on 10 July 2026, reflects a Month-over-Month deterioration in sentiment.

The July figure marks a reversal from June’s higher level, signalling that households have turned more cautious compared with the previous month. Under the Month-over-Month comparison framework, the “Actual” result for July captures the change relative to June, while the “Previous” comparison reflected June’s movement against May. The drop suggests that optimism about personal finances, economic conditions, or job prospects has softened further as the summer progresses.
