FX.co ★ Sweden New Orders Growth Slows in August

Total orders received by Sweden increased by 5.1% year-on-year in August 2026, the weakest growth since May and down from a revised 7.7% rise in July. Domestic orders continued to fall, though at a slower pace (-0.7% vs. -5.1%), while foreign demand grew more moderately (9.0% vs. 15.5%).

By industrial grouping, orders for intermediate goods (0.7% vs. -5.4%), capital goods (13.2% vs. 27.0%), and non-durable consumer goods (9.4% vs. 12.2%) all increased, although growth generally slowed compared with the previous month. In contrast, orders for energy-related goods excluding durable goods (-25.2% vs. -18.9%) and for durable consumer goods (-0.5% vs. -8.7%) continued to decline.
